The Cape Cod Canal Can Produce More Than Just a Great Day of Fishing…..
The Cape Cod Canal is one of the Northeast’s most productive striper fisheries. Few places, if any, allow an angler to fish 30-plus foot depths mere yards away from where they’re standing. The deep, fast moving waters lend themselves to daytime action that can often outpace the fishing at night.
The Canal has a variety of boat traffic accessing Buzzards Bay through this water way. As you can see the historic Mayflower II can be seen in this picture making its yearly trip to its winter location. The Mayflower II is owned by Pilmoth Plantation and moves the ship every winter to have restoration work done at the Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard at Mystic Seaport.
