The Best Off Shore Fishing in the North East
Fishing The Canal
The Cape Cod Canal is one of the Northeast’s most productive Striper fisheries. Few places, if any, allow an angler to fish 30-plus foot depths mere yards away from where they’re standing. The deep, fast moving waters lend themselves to daytime action that can often outpace the fishing at night.
The canal is my favorite place to fish from shore. It’s a fishermen’s Disneyland!!! Also, you see all kinds of cool boats going by as you fish is a plus!!! I love that place!!!
Mayflower II Annual Trip Through Canal
The Canal has a variety of boat traffic accessing Buzzards Bay through this water way. As you can see the historic Mayflower II can be seen in this picture making its yearly trip to its winter location. The Mayflower II is owned by Pilmoth Plantation and moves the ship every winter to have restoration work done at the Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard at Mystic Seaport. The replica of the ship is scheduled to arrive in Plymouth Harbor on May 21 in time for Plymouth’s 400th anniversary commemoration of the original landing. To learn more visit www.mysticseaport.org.

Came to visit my friend Bill, and enjoyed the experience of catching the biggest Stripe Bass I ever caught from shore.

Been fishing the Cape Cod Canal for over 30 years, and it never disappoints.

You can catch more than stripe bass in the Canal. I like finding lobsters in my traps.
